Product Name: | Comfeel Plus transparent dressing |
Classification Name: | Dressing Hydrocolloid, Transparent |
Manufacturer: | Coloplast Ltd |
Comfeel: Plus Transparent Dressing consists of a semipermeable polyurethane film coated with a thin layer of a self adhesive mass containing sodium carboxy-methylcellulose (NaCMC). The dressing is permeable to water vapour but impermeable to exudate and micro-organisms. It is waterproof, allowing the patient to bathe or shower.
Comfeel Plus Transparent Dressing has very limited absorbency and therefore should be used in the treatment of lightly exuding superficial wounds including minor burns, abrasions, and donor sites after haemostasis has been achieved.
The dressing may also be used prophylactically to help prevent friction damage to the skin of patients who are at risk of developing pressure sores.
Comfeel: Plus Transparent Dressing should not be applied to patients who are known to be sensitive to one of the ingredients.
An appropriately sized dressing is partially removed from its paper backing using the tab provided, and placed over the wound using a non-touch technique. In order to ensure good adhesion to the surrounding skin, a minimum overlap of 1.5 cm from the margin of the wound should be allowed.
On clean epithelialising wounds, the dressing should be left in place for as long as possible. On chronic wounds or those containing small amounts of slough, the dressing should be changed more frequently.
Comfeel: Plus Transparent Dressing should not be applied to infected, or heavily exuding wounds or those containing significant amounts of slough or necrotic tissue.
Comfeel Plus Transparent Dressing is presented individually wrapped in a peel pouch, sterilised by Beta irradiation.
